Parishes in Transition

PARISHES IN TRANSITION

Duffy_EugeneA new collection of essays has been edited by Eugene Duffy, a priest of our diocese. This book has its origins in a conference at Mary Immaculate College two years ago, hosted by the Department of Theology & Religious Studies. Colleagues from a number of departments have collaborated: Liam Irwin, Des McCafferty, Cathy Swift, and Brendan O’Keefe, as well as Paddy Connolly, Eugene Duffy and Eamonn Conway.

There are also chapters by: Eoin O’Mahoney of the Catholic Bishops’ Council for Research and Development, Noirin Lynch of the Limerick Diocese Pastoral Centre, John Kernan, of the Limerick Diocese Thomond Cluster, Dermot Meehan, a parish priest in Achonry diocese, Tom Whelan of the Milltown Institute, Donal Murray, Bishop Emeritus of Limerick, Myriam Wijlens, professor of canon law, Erfurt (Germany), and Hank Witte, professor of dogma, Tilburg (The Netherlands)

There will be a formal launch here in the college in late October. In the meantime, the book is available in all good bookstores!

Our congratulations and thanks to Eugene Duffy.
